| Water Rescue Technician Level Training |
Sun. Oct 25th 2009
Several members of the Collinsburg VFC trained to technician level status as determined by the PA Fish and Boat Commission by passing the Emergency Boat Operation and Rescue class held this past week at our station. This class focused on boat handling, moving water tactics, and boat rescue strategies. In order to achieve this status members of the department have taken the following classes. Introduction to Water Rescue, Boat Safety, Water Rescue and the Emergency Responder, and Emergency Boat Operations and Rescue. The final two classes offered by the Fish and Boat Commission are in the planning stages with Ice Rescue coming as soon as the weather will allow.
Instructor Scott Grahn demonstrates how to inflate a "boat in a bag."
A dry run of the boat slalom course to come later that day.
